Retainers

Orthodontic retainers are dental appliances designed to maintain the alignment of teeth after orthodontic treatment, such as braces or clear aligners, has been completed. They are custom-made to fit the unique shape of an individual’s mouth and are typically made of plastic or a combination of plastic and metal wires.

We use two types:

Essix Retainers: Which are made of clear plastic and closely resemble Invisalign aligners. They fit snuggly over the teeth and are virtually invisible when worn. Essix retainers are popular for their aesthetic appeal and comfortable fit.

Hawley Retainers: These are one of the most common type of removable retainers. They consist of a sturdy acrylic base that sits against the roof of the mouth, with a wire that wraps around the front teeth to hold them in place. The acrylic base can be customized with various colors or designs.
